
Reverend
Wright was born on February 1, 1958 in Rome, GA to Mr. and Mrs. James
G. Wright Sr. His mother passed away in October, 1997. She was a
school teacher, who retired after 35 years of faithful service.
Reverend
Wright's grandfather was a pastor for many years in Northwest, GA. His
father has been a successful businessman in Rome, GA for over 40 years.
Reverend
Wright was educated in Rome, GA, and graduated from Rome High School in
1976. After graduation, he attended Southern Tech for two years and
attended and graduated from Covington Theological Seminary with a
Bachelor of Ministry and an Associate in Sacred Literature in 2000.
He
married the love of his life, Mrs. Sheliah Johnson on June 7, 1982.
To this union, four children were born: Glenn Johnson, Kizzy Johnson,
Shere' Wright, and Katherine Wright.
Reverend Wright was
ordained in 1996 in ministry at Cedar Spring Baptist Church and
preached four years at the Polk County Jail until called to pastor at
Sardis in 2000. Additionally, Pastor Wright worked as a prison
chairperson for the Billy Graham Crusade featuring Ralph Bell in 1998.
The
pastor is an astute businessman in his own right. His enterpreneurship
led him to form Quality Lawn Service fifteen years ago. Also, he
assists and manages Wright's Furniture Company. His hobbies include
one main thing: FISHING, FISHING, AND MORE FISHING!!!
